About us

The Stronger Futures Centre is a collaboration between the Intergenerational Health group at the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute (MCRI) and the Aboriginal Communities and Families Health Research Alliance (ACRA) at the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute.

We are committed to improving social and emotional wellbeing and resilience in families and communities disproportionately impacted by the intergenerational trauma and family violence.

Our longer-term goal is to contribute to the reversal of the current upward trends in rates of suicide, self-harm and mental health disorder in children and young people.

Our five-year goal is to improve social and emotional wellbeing, family functioning and resilience in families and communities disproportionately impacted by intergenerational trauma and family violence.

In the longer term, our aim is to contribute to reversal of the current upward trends in rates of suicide, self-harm and mental health disorders in children and young people.

The Stronger Futures CRE is lead by the Intergenerational Health group at Murdoch Children’s Research Institute, and the South Australian Health & Medical Research Institute.
