Ali Fogarty

Dr Ali Fogarty is a psychologist and postdoctoral researcher at the Intergenerational Health Group at the Murdoch Children's Research Institute. She is a Stronger Futures CRE Scholar, and co-leads the Resilience and Prevention Stream. Ali's research is focused on promoting the health and wellbeing of children and families exposed to early life adversity such as child maltreatment and family violence.

Ali is excited about the CRE's opportunities to strengthen partnerships and knowledge sharing across researchers and partner organisations who are working with families. She hopes that the CRE generates evidence to prevent and promote healing and recovery from intergenerational trauma for parents and children.

Ali has over 7 years of experience working with parents, children and families who have experienced trauma and adversity and brings to the CRE a passion and commitment to highlighting the voices of those with lived experience of trauma.

Ali lives on Wadawurrung Country and works across Wadawurrung and Wurundjeri Country.

Spending time exploring the Surf Coast, long runs with her dog, and connecting with family and friends are some of the things which keep Ali strong and resilient.
