Our history
The Stronger Futures Centre of Research Excellence (CRE) was funded by the National Health and Medical Research Council (2021-2025). The CRE was led by the Intergenerational Health group at Murdoch Children’s Research Institute and the Aboriginal Communities and Families Health Research Alliance at the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute
It was Australia’s first collaborative national centre working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and refugee communities to break cycles of intergenerational trauma and social inequity.
Continued collaboration
The Centre is continuing to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange to improve the social and emotional wellbeing and resilience of families and communities disproportionately impacted by intergenerational trauma and family violence.
We host a seminar series called “Creative Conversations” and are continuing to produce resources for policy makers, practitioners and communities.
